Mounds of inanimate material are transformed and brought to life by Jenny Kuri to become intricate and convivial textile creatures. The inspiration for Jenny's unique figures are shaped by her interpretation of the natural world. An abundance of colourful materials are used, specializing in felt. Jenny attended the Ontario College of Art and Design, and the Nova Scotia College of Art where she studied in the Material Art and Design program. She now lives and works in Muskoka, Ontario. Her work can be found at various shows around Toronto, Muskoka, and in private collections in Canada, the U.S. and Germany. Her work has been shown at the Toronto Outdoor Art Show in Nathan Phillips Square, and the One of A Kind Christmas show at the Exhibition Place.
Some of Jenny's other interests include horticulture and garden design. She loves playing outdoors and has currently completed her diploma at the Niagara Parks Commission School of Horticulture where she studied ornamental horticulture at the botanical gardens and butterfly conservatory.
