I had the priveledge of giving a workshop at the Kapisanan Philippine Centre in Kensington Market last month. My two lovely and enthusiastic students are participating in the Clutch program offered at the Kapisanan Centre. What they learned from the workshop they applied to making an almost life sized puppet to use in a film they were making in another workshop. I showed them wet felting techniques, and needle felting. We discussed the process of felt from the animal to the sliky smooth fluff on the table and ways to use reclaimed wool materials in your work. Basic puppet building techniques were also discussed.
